I know it might sound a bit weird, but does anybody else hate it when your in a room and the door is left wide open. I don't know why it bothers me - it's just really distracting!

I don't like being in my living room with the door shut! It doesn't bother me any where else though
yeah its really annoying having the door open. Like, when I'm on the computer I always think someone is watching me through the door so I just have to close it. Or when I have my TV on upstairs i hate having the door open! Wierd isnt it really!?
Oh cripes, I'm one of those people that hate any doors being closed! can't sleep at night if my bedroom door is closed!!
actually... since you ask... yes, it does sound a bit weird. What do you do when you're out in the open? Do you live with anyone else?
it drives me mad! i think with me, it's partly to do with the fact that i'm constantly listening to music & my parents don't take too kindly to the volume level i like (and they have issues with alkaline trio at any volume, for some reason) so i shut the door behind me. also the possibility of people watching without my knowledge, as i'm quite a private person in many respects. but yes, i also prefer doors shut. it's less of an issue when there are many people in the room.
I prefer it, I feel too enclosed if the doors are shut.

I like all the interior doors in the house open during the day - bright & airy!

Having said that, I wouldn't be able to sleep with the bedroom door open (day or night). Also, if I'm dropping off to sleep & notice the doors on the wardrobe are ajar, if only a 1/4 of an inch, I have to get out of bed & turn the key to lock them. None so strange as folk!

sheesh, hate to be in a room with a bunch of ABers alternately slamming doors and opening them again... I shut doors to keep out noise, cold air and hordes of lascivious blondes as and when necessary; otherwise I just don't care.

jno - I do live with other people, and yes, Im fine outdoors! I think it is what other people have said, that feeling that you might be being watched - or that people are keep coming in and out. Maybe we're just all paranoid!

Closed, not locked though - it would really annoy me trying to get to sleep with the door open.
I can't sleep without the bedroom and wardrobe doors being closed. I am even resisting moving our baby son into his own room as I know I would have to leave our bedroom door open to be able to hear him.
I'm the same. I can't stand being in the living room and being able to see into the kitchen or see the bottom of the stairs. I don't know why, maybe it's an instinct to do with feeling secure and not having to watch for predators or something!
We may be weird Juicy but I agree, I spend all day working outside but I don't like it if even a cupboard door is ajar. Don't mind the bedroom door open tho', but usually shut it to stop dogs out!
I am not at all bothered by doors fully open or closed, but ajar I cannot stand, which would further irritate jno as the AB community wouldn't even be able to settle on a middle ground. Too many horror films maybe in my youth, with doors silently swinging open in the background...
