How tall and how old are you? I'm a dancer and I'm 5ft4" 7st 5 size 6, any taller than 5ft5" for girls is too tall to be a professional dancer. But as for being overweight, it all depends on your height and your build etc
I don't think you are over weight at all if you are a size 10. Like Casey said it would depend on your height. Remember muscle weighs heavier than fat and if you are a dancer I would imagine you are pretty strong. I was reading an article in a fitness magazine and it said that the BMI chart is flawed because it doesn't differentiate between the weight of fat and the weight of muscle. You know that you are a fit person so I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you look and feel great who cares what others say.

i am 17 and i am 5"3 ish,  i've been dacing sincei was 4.
Body Mass Index that you have been looking at is meaningless for people that are not "ordinary" e.g. if you are a bodybuilder, are an athlete, dancer ect. Just to use the exteme examples here is a body builder looks at the scale it tells him he is morbidly obese- obviously he is no such thing just very muscular. The same will probably true of you, as said before you muscle is what is heavy and this is nothing to concern yourself about. If you would really like an indication of your body fat, go to a gym and ask them for a firness assessment part of this will be a body fat reading (this measures the body fat as a percentage of the bodys total weight) - this is much more accurate and useful
Best thing to do is to ask your dance teacher to give you an honest answer. If you are serious about being a dancer, it's a bit like being a jockey- only tiny, light men can be professional jockeys otherwise the horses can't take their weight. With dancers it is similar; that really famous ballet dancer (who I can't recall the name of!) said she has to eat very little to keep her weight down in order to be fair to her dancing partners!! Whilst I highly disapprove of all this, if you want to be a professional dancer, you may need to conform to a certain size. (Like being a model etc- your body is your tool.) If you dance just for recreation, I really wouldn't worry about it. But ask your teacher for advice.
I would say you're not overweight, to find out if you are a healthy weight (which i would imagine you are, being a size 10) other things need to be taken into consideration, for example your waist measurement can tell you a lot, if a womans waist is over 35 inches her chances of getting certain diseases/illnesses are increased. It also depends on the size of your bones, you may have heavy bones (I know people use this as an excuse for being overweight but how heavy peoples bones are can differ quite a bit) if you have big feet I would imagine you have big bones, which could explain your weight, along with how muscley you are, and whether you are on a method of contraception which may cause you to put on weight.
When people say what size they are would it help to know if that is US , UK , or europe ?
11 stone and size 10 UK sounds v heavy for size.
