cutting a futon bed

i have a metal futon bunk bed with a single on the top and to save money i thought i would cut off the top single bed for my daughter as she dont like the height of the bed so she can have a low single bed, what can i use to cut the frame of the bed and take the futon bottom bit off.

You will need a hacksaw, and a file to smooth the cut edges.

will just a hacksaw do it ?
my father in law want's to use an angle grinder but i thought this might be a bit too big to use so im trying to find other options.
If he wants to use an angle grinder, let him do it! As a cutting tool they are not for the inexperienced.
Aquagility is quite right...........especially with the normal 225mm (9 inch) one we all use........................but for small jobs I often use a 100-110mm (4 inch) model..........please remember to wear good goggles though.......... :o)
goggles and gloves as the sparks will burn his hands. Also dust sheets to prevent hot sparks burning the floor. Make sure he is accurate at marking out as it may end up wobbly.
