hiya,
i got the top of my ear rim (cartilage) pierced a week ago, it's really cute, but i want to take the balls off of the bar (not remove the bar, just the balls) and put on some little spikes that i have.
no matter how hard i try, i can't get the balls off! the bar just ends up spinning in the piercing rather than the ball screwing off.
i was pierced my a man so his 'hand-tight' must have been tighter than my 'hand-tight' :(
any recommendations as to easy ways to get them off?
or should i go back to my piercer and ask them to take them off for me?
any advice appreciated.
thanks in advance
Vicky

If it were me I would go back to the guy who pierced it for you, then at least you won't hurt yourself!
i had the same problem with the bar in my navel. i ended up using 2 pair of pliers, holding a ball in each and twisting - I wouldn't recommend this though! go back to the piercer!
Piercers sell pliers designed specifically for this job, so if you plan to change it regularly I'd probably invest in a pair of those.  However, the way I do it is to get a good pair of tweezers (cheap ones won't do as they need lots of grip), hold them as close to the 'blades' as your fingers will allow, grip them as tightly as you can and then slide them around the ball and unscrew.  This worked for my tongue bar which was impossible to grip with fingers as it's covered in saliva!  Or you could find a friendly man to assist you...?
