Once again I've been out for a meal with others who have starters, main, sweet, coffee, wine, etc and then at the end split the bill between how ever many people are there. It infuriates me as it is so unfair to people who either don't drink or only have a main course, etc. If you say anything you're just made to feel bad. I think it's a really bad habit that seems to be the norm now. Anyone agree?

You've gotta be brave to do this, but say at the START you'll only be paying for what you actually have plus maybe 1-2 for a tip.Blame the credit crunch or something. People will think you're a mean probably, but if they're not real mates who cares. You have to say it in an assertive non aggressive way or you will be shouted down and made to feel bad.
jayne they are freaking men, they always treat me like that. last night we went out on a work do and we were trying to organise how to get bk home.

the guys said we would get train back to town then .. they would get taxi home and Me would just walk home.

i cant beleive he would allow me to walk home on my own at midnight.... through city centre to my flat.... its usually 20mins walk.

i raised it with him...and He goes well u live in the city centre u dont need a lift!.......u can just walk home.

i said 'What? you want me .. to walk home on my own at midnight through city centre.. then walking pass the dodgest area.... to my flat??' (20mins walk).

Whitebear, that is SO mean, I can't believe they treat you so badly. I don't think I would go out with them again, but then I suppose they would call you a misery for not going. You can't win can you? and they say WE are hard to understand!! Men!!!!!
