A blind man and his wife live alone on an island...He is ill and relies on his wife to give him 1 white tablet and 1 red tablet every morning, which he needs to survive throughout each day...After a bad argument with his vindictive wife, she tells him that today she has placed 2 white tablets and 2 red tablets in front of him, knowing that if he takes 2 tablets of the same colour he will die...Even though all the tablets are the same shape and size, he laughs mockingly, confidently taking the correct coloured tablets as required and survives the day...How did he do it?

He could break each one in half and take half of it. That way he would get 2 white halves and 2 red halves.

That's correct Grasscarp...I thought it would be quite difficult to solve, obviously it wasn't.
I don't get it..

Why don't he just take 1 white and 1 red and leave the others on the table?? :-(
OR..

What if he breaks 2 red 1's in half?? if he takes 3 halfs of Red,. he'll die??

I'm not being pedantic, just confuzzled ..:-)

I know

I know

I reread it lol
What if she put 3 red and 1 white, or 4 red, or 3 white and 1 red, or 4 white? That'd muck up the method.
It would but she didn't lol :-)

How do you know? It only says she "tells" him, and she was vindictive, remember.
