Is it right that the government should seek to further criminalise prostitution?
Why should it be illegal for consenting adults to have sex?
Would legalising prostitution make the state guilty of the sexual abuse and degradation of vulnerable adults?

I can never understand why there cannot be legalised brothels.

1. The government would benefit from the tax revenues
2. The prostitute could be forced to have regular health checkups
3. The punter would be satisfied in not feeling guilty and an excuse for raping young girls.
4. Sub normal people with invalidity would be able to partake
5. The youth could yet experience before courtship or marriage.
6. It would be easier to check for drugs within the brothel.

So why bring out this unworkable law?
They have them in Melbourne. The system isn't perfect

but it seems to work ok. I think the British are probably too prim to consider it, though.

Dunno about prim, have you seen the town centre on a weekend?
Never mind the carryings on in Spain and Greece etc.
The biggest problem I can see is for the people who live near the area or zone, at least with a multi storey car park in a town centre it's in a mainly commercial area and very tightly contained.
