Hi
I was wondering if anyone can give me some useful info on Trials? I'm due to go to Trial on 17th sept for Common Assault by beating....If you need more info pls read my earlier post a while back = (Common assault by beating x2-but I'm the victim).
I am innocent-plea is not guilty. At Trial readiness today I was told its going to Trial-was hoping for a bind over (solictiors advice)...but no- still going to Trial....I was in there for a few seconds, for them say that? Waste of tax payers money!
Prosecution have till the 11th to supply evidence as they had none today (trial readiness).....but there isnt any evidence...as I didnt do anything...Im the victim!! No indepenant witness etc-nothing! whats likely to happen...??? Will I be allowed to speak in court?? Not as in Yes or No answrs.....actually be able to speak? What is likely outcome? Pls help thank you.

You will have your say only of you choose to give evidence in your defence. if you are represented at trial you will be taken through your evidence by your advocate and will face cross-examination by the prosecutor.

"Your say" must be limited to evidence surrounding the offence itself and be limited to defending yourself against accusations made by the prosecution.

The likely outcome depends who the magistrates believe.
