I currently use Virgin Vie one step face base, but my skin is very dry and sensitive and I've found recently that shortly after applying it my skin just soaks it in and starts flaking (nice!). Does anyone know of a better foundation I could use that wouldn't dry out so much?

im a beauty therapist the type of foundation is it a liquid 1 your using?
-- answer removed --
hey! my skin used to that all no matter what i used. but now i use moisturiser first so it soaks into the skin then put on my foundation. (i use dream matte mouse) it works but careful not to mix the moisturiser with the foundation, let it sink in.
Hope that helps.

Thanks rachelmo and lumination. The foundation I'm using isn't liquid - its like a powder but its foundation as well. I always moisturise first. Anymore help greatly appreciated!
hmmmm, maybe its your foundation then...powder isnt always the best thing to use...
How about using a tinted moisturiser rather than a foundation? There are some really good quality ones out there.
Boots have just introduced a foundation that uses the serum that was all over the news a while back.It could be worth a try as it is quite cheap to purchase.

I've tried tinted moisturiser too - a Nivea one. The same thing happens with that too, after a couple of hours my face is really tight and starts to flake!
Before you put your foundation on put a good layer of a decent moisturiser (one suitable for your skin type) on and let it soak into your skin for 10 minutes.

If you try to put your foundation on before this it will just slide off!

Put your foundation on after this time and it should sit on top of your skin rather than soaking in, if it still soaks in I would advise using a stronger moisturiser
I've had a similar problem with that. And I recently brought a foundation from a company called I.D Bare Essentials. And it's a mineral powder, and I absolutely love it. I gives fantastic coverage and can be used as a good concealer as well. And it helps heal your skin and shouldn't flake (mine hasn't. And my skin normally flakes everyday.)
Its not cheap though I think it's around the 25 mark.
You need a face primer to stop the foundation soaking into your skin. A good one is Gosh Velvet Touch foundation primer from Superdrug. I have tried Virgin Vie in the past and their products are very drying on the skin
