12:15 I know. A public apology would be suffice in my opinion. Not just from Ross and Brand but the people who are responsible for airing it. In the grand scheme of things it was just a bad joke. How many listeners do they have? I bet the majority found it funny.

Tumours on their humours........

i totally agree with ummmm. yes it was a stupid thing for them to do but it does come across to me as just their usual humour, to which im sure their fans wont really blink an eye tbh. talk of sacking them or killing them ...ffs people get some perspective just a bit OTT dont you think!!
the granddaughter will make a mint out of all of this AND she has had sex with russell brand WHAT THE HELL DOES SHE HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT !

swooonnn i love russell.
I did not say I wanted to kill them, I said if the opportunity arose to press a button I would press it.

Surely that is funny.
The granddaughter did not instigate all this - so I don't blame her, so having sex with a famous(1) person leaves one vulnerable to verbal abuse and also to innocent family members. It doesn't matter who she has slept with, no one has the right to demean or belittle anyone.
well did you all know her name a few days ago ?

they have put her on the map now she should be thanking them.
so don't go blaming her for all this, she did not start it.

Russell Brand is resigning from his Radio 2 show in the wake of the controversy over calls made to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, he said.
His abrupt departure comes as Jonathan Ross, who also took part in the prank, issued a public apology over his "juvenile and thoughtless" remarks.

Former heroin addict Brand has presented his Radio 2 show since November 2006 and is thought to be paid more than 200,000 a year by the BBC.

Brand said in a statement that he took "complete responsibility" for the incident and that he got "caught up in the moment".

Brand said: "As I only do the radio show to make people laugh I've decided that given the subsequent coverage I will stop doing the show."

He apologised to listeners, but because they would be "upset" that his Saturday night BBC show cannot continue.

Brand, 33, and Ross, 47, were suspended by the BBC, 11 days after the offensive phone call was broadcast on Radio 2.

In a statement, Brand said: "I have apologised to Andrew Sachs for the rude messages I left on October 18th and he has graciously accepted. As I only do the radio show to make people laugh I've decided that given the subsequent coverage I will stop doing the show.

"I got a bit caught up in the moment and forgot that at the core of the rude comments and silly songs were the real feelings of a beloved and brilliant comic actor and a very sweet and big hearted young woman. Apologies are also owed to the loyal listeners of the show who enjoyed its shambolic spirit and anarchy and will be upset that it cannot continue.

"I take complete responsibility and offer nothing but love and contrition and I hope that now Jonathan and the BBC will endure less forensic wrath."

*****************
I know the editor should be sacked too but, at the end of the day, the juvenile idiots DID leave the messages on Mr. Sach's answer machine. That's practically a criminal offence. Maybe criminal charges will follow ....
About time too!
johan hart, "there known for being funny"? are they? when ?cos i must have missed it, along with a fair few others
If anything I am surprised that J Ross hasn't been pulled up before this. I stopped watching his self-indulgent TV chat show months ago, he became obsessed with himself and comes across as a man suffering a mid-life crisis. Apparently several big-names refuse to appear on his show as they don't like his interviewing style, which is full of sarcasm, and we all know what level of wit that is!
i agree with Papaleekie can't stand them and i hope they get ride rid of the tw@t from top gear. 139 + for this crap
