I was travelling down to liverpool last week and had three changes, the longest train journey was on a virgin train, we were packed in like sardines, i was lucky to get a seat, but there was loads standing and all there luggage, coming back was even worse i suffered the whole journey standing in the luggage bit, people standing in the aisles and doorways,no bloody staff came down would have been eaten alive, what are the rules for opening up the first class section??,some lady took pictures to send to virgin, what if there had been a fire omg it would have been chaos, its not a cheap journey either, they must know the amount of people these trains are supposed to hold without fear of getting crushed, i am about to mail them bloody disgrace!!!!

Yeah, I here you!

:)
Same situation we experienced last time out with Virgin. I had booked seats - in a carriage which they didn't actually connect to the train - and ended up sitting on the floor outside the loo.
Return trip, one train cancelled so we all squeezed onto the next - out of NEC Birmingham so it was manic.

There were hoards of us and first class was taken over without a by your leave. The ticket collector squeezed thru and said not a word - in case he was lynched I think.....

The train was unheated and some people wore the head rest covers over their heads to help keep warm. The buffet lady huffily announced she was closing for the entire trip (back to London) so no hot drinks....

Complain and get compo puddicat. I did.......

Hi Rabbity, just have left the most stinkiest of complaints to them lets see what happens, think we have a rail panel for people like me, any ideas how to contact them, no answer as yet to why first class wasnt opened, its not only that t he amount of leg room and seating has to be addressed,i was nearly sitting in the lap of the guy next to me lol,the local trains apart from the wigan to liverpool ones, were comfy and spacious!!!
I just complained to Virgin puddicat, got an ok letter back and some compo in the way of a rail ticket token.

I don't do trains very often as they are a miserable experience. As you say, you get very little room on some. I'd prefer to sit on someone elses lap but usually end up being the sat upon or hanging half into the aisle.
