Block e mails

Hi I have a problem ,I try to block a few e mails on my computer via the pull down menu, on the mail page ,but there are some that keep on appearing.Is there another way I can stop these e mails coming through?.

If you understand how to read email headers you could try blocking the isp of the sender.
If the sender uses an obscure email address - whatever comes after the @, you could block that. For example [email protected] you could put @ethel.com in the filter
Don't do it with popular email addresses though, all you'll be blocking half the world. :)
