My husband is trying to replace our the old radio/cassette player in our car (Clarion ARB267OR). He has inserted the proper hook plates but the player still won't budge! Any suggestions please!! He's driving me mad!

What car?

Sometimes they are also held by a bolt into the middle of the back of the stereo.

Can be a real pain to get to to it and remove the bolt if they are.. but unsurprisingly they do make car stereos as hard to remove as possible sometimes

Sorry, it is a Hyundai Accent 1.3, 1994 (X reg). It looks like it may be bolted in from the back, which probably means removing half of the car to get to it - unless there are any other ideas!
