Terrij, you don't need to dig a trench in the concrete.  All you need to do is take a tee junction from your rising main and take the pipe(s) around the wall at floor level.  Usually you fit this behind units which in turn hide the pipework.

The same can be done with the waste pipe, but it may (for space) be easier to take this out through the wall directly behind the appliance and around the outside wall to the original drain.  By the way, as long as the outlet from the appliance is higher than the connection into the drain there shouldn't really be a problem with the water draining away.

Making a trench in the concrete is no easy task. cant you tee off under the floor where the pipes came from. Either way you do it just make sure your waste water pipe has pitch (meaning higher on the machine end ). just put a level on the pipe and be sure the bubble is closer to the machine than the other end of the pipe. it doesnt have to be much as long as it is pitched the entire length of the pipe so there are no dips or low spots in the pipe to hold water.
