Can the company give a bad references? my new employer doesnt want me anymore after receiving a reference from my present job. I have been in this place for 2 years and all went well etc
What should i do?

They have to stick to facts and the reference has to be factually correct. If you were sacked, they can say so. If you had a lot of time off sick, they can say so.

What they can't do is say things like 'I don't think that Jolita would be very good in the position you are offering' as that is their opinion and not fact.
Previous employers can be sued by future employers if questions are not asked honestly.

It's difficult to omit faults when references are requested by standard ticked box forms.
