Hi everyone!!
I took the littlest bunny to one of her hospital appointments today and the surgeon has decided that she needs an operation in the next couple of weeks. The has got a hernia and one of her ovaries is now strangulated by it. If they leave it then she could become septic and be in serious problems and loose the ovary so I know it has to be done sooner rather than later.
But I am really upset by this the poor little thing has been through so much in her short little life already and I constantly have to do physio that is painful and give her drugs to keep her well.
Has anyone else been in a situation like this before she is only 7 months old and only 13lbs due to her problems. I think this is a sense of gotta be cruel to be kind,
but poor baby pink bunny :-(

Hi pinkbunny, i'm sorry to hear about your baby.

I was born with holes in my heart and had to have several operations to correct the problem, and as heartbreaking as it was at the time for my mother ,it just had to be done or I wouldn't be here to tell the tell today! I'm very greateful that I don't actually remember all of the operations i had!

I now have a beautiful baby girl of my own and cant even begin to imagine how it must feel to watch your little one suffering.

Good luck to you and baby pinkbunny, i hope she makes a speedy recovery and is better soon!!
Take care

Awww poor baby pink bunny.

But as youll be aware babies can cope with a lot more than we think. If it was an adult we'd sit and mope and take longer to recover whereas babies have a all encompassing happiness about them dont they, that lights up their face and make things just that bit easier to handle.

I wish her a speedy recovery.
If we are discussing a rabbit then it would be kinder to put it down.

thanks bailey and redcrx for your supposrt I know its gonna be hard but its the best thing for her and she needs it done and as you said redcrx babies are not like an adult after surgery i am sure she will be smiling again soon.
And terambulan no its not a rabbit we are talking about its my baby!!! She was born very early and was only 1lb 15oz so has been left with a few problems that need sorting but apart from that is a very happy little girl so no I wont be having her putdown!!
Think terambulan didnt mean anything by that, please dont take offence, hope the wee girl gets well soon!!!

Oh no I didint think terambulan was being nasty was my fault by refering to my daughter as "baby pink bunny" lol. But I do agree if it was a rabbit it may be kinder to put it to sleep but my little one is a mean fighter she has done really well so far its just a bit upsetting that she has to go through more surgery when I thought everything was ok for a while. But hey its surely only gonna make her stonger but I do appreciate all of everyones support as a lone parent I dont have alot of support so peoples comments on here are reslly valuable to me x x x
