I know its more like 5 hours but just been to Norden Farm in wonderful Dorset - I have done a fair bit of traveling around the globe and the Studland/sandbanks beaches are up there with the best of them - Weather permitting of course

Try Waterside Farm on Ullswater. The site is right on the lakeside and is very quiet.
