There seems to be a lot of people today asking for help who are not bothering to give the correct information i.e
Name of the newspaper
Clue number
Number of letters
Clue description etc
I think people who answer these should tell them to resubmit.

I agree with ironmonger.
too many posters are lazy and expect us to have their papers in front of us when they ask for the answer to 1d or 4a. for example
this problem has arisen week after week. The only way to stop it is for everyone who would normally answer the questions to totally ignore the person asking for help.
Its pure laziness and in a way rude so for the 'guilty' people PLEASE give as much info as possible

If it is not answered maybe within 1 or 2 hours say, could the "answerbank" not automatically report .....YOU HAVE NO ANSWER YET....Have you put ALL your details in????

what is the underlying reason to 'impose' the need to give all the info suggested above .....

answering on this site is for all - not limited to those who like to 'major' in answering!

if you choose not to give such info ... somone who has done the same puzzle will give the answer .... therefore, the giving of answers is wider spread among many ....

the person asking a question may have to wait a little longer for an answer - but, that is their choice ;-)
I agree, I've also noticed people putting the Sunday
Mail instead of Mail on Sunday or M.O.S. in some
cases the date is necessary ie last Wednesday
someone asked a question about the Crossword
in the Daily Record, (Crosswords only on Tuesday
and Saturday) but they didn't state it was Saturday.
Also please and thank you would be nice,
I too find it annoying. Someone today had posted an anagram and missed out part of the letters. Also, some clues are dependent on the clue layout.

A week or so ago, someone posted, "Which capital city is this: Is this car for the insurers"? I spent a good ten minutes searching for this before someone else posted that the clue should be "is this CAR A CASe for the insurers". Most annoying.
Yapisle if we know the details of the paper or
magazine, date and issue number then we can
check it up quickly.
And for those that say LOCAL - well I don't what
locality you are in, if I did I could check.
people from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland
and the R.O.I all use this site, so we are here to help
you IF you help us with the right information
It would be useful too if Crossword questions were posted under the Crossword heading instead of in Rddles and Quizzes.
I can't really see the point of having separate headings.
Just relax about it ..... this is a site for all ..... and, the more peole offering answers, the better .....

I don't see this site as only for the experts / regulars, who can answer almost all questions if given the number of letters and any letters already known :-)
