On a flight recently I experienced really bad toothache when we were landing. This wore off after an hour of so and hasn't returned. Anyone know if it was the descent which brought it on or just a coincidence?

I get the same thing just after taking off. Could it be pressure, magnetic forces, vibrations? Very unpleasant.
Not wishing to suppose poor dental hygiene, but could it be related to cavities and fillings - if there is an air pocket inside the tooth, either natural or plogged with a filling, the change in pressure could exert pressure on the delicate insides of the tooth.
