I would just like to say thankyou to the casting crew who found us the likes of Colin Firth, the man from North and South, who was also in the Vicar of Dibley(he did also play the baddie in the new Robin Hood, but didn't look quite as fetching in that) and also all the other heartthrobs they've given us over the years. Doesn't matter what years Pride and Prejudice you watch, they always managed to make the bloke look incredibly steamy, even if he was a complete geek in something else!! anyone else agree?!

I do agree. Given that seemingly rampant strumpets are the generic heroine and target audience for such tales as you have outlined, it seems only right that the admiringly adroit and buff gentleman of the age is truly represented by a fit geezer in breeches in its romantic and climatic denouement, when all abandon is abandoned and ruffles are thrown to the wind in the candle-burning heat of Victorian passion.

Fortunately, for the beer podged anti-hero husbands sitting on the sofa rearranging their crown jewels and watching their wives drool over Mr Darcy, the odd piece of crumpet in a low cut bustier - and enough underskirts to keep Primark employees happy - pops up to make it all worthwhile for us too.

Can anyone think of any examples of films and/or actors/actresses which have been down and out in one film but totally hot in something completely different? and thankyou for replying from the male side Oc, incredibly decent of you, what do you think? Some bloke told me Keira Knightley floated his boat, but I personally think she is far too skinny. I also hate Angelina one day, but then loved her in Mr and Mrs Smith
Again from a male perspective - sometimes I think Julia Roberts is exceptionally hot, other times, just ordinary. I find the same true of Angelina Jolie and Darryl Hannah.

It's got something to do with the shape of the mouth would you believe!!

Maybe I'm just strange that I spend my time looking at their mouths! :-))
Octavius!!! You have made me howl with laughter!!!! Thankyou! xxx

My Ex, and scarily my husband now says that Woman out of Four Weddings looks like a horse!

Octavius, maybe its just the clothes pushing up certain parts of the anatomy that you like. That principle worked for David Bowie with the socks/spandex trousers! (sorry in Labyrinth) but he does scare me now with his two different coloured eyes and short hair(and I thought he looked not so nice with orange hair as Ziggy Stardust)
ffs what the hell is wrong with me, Im not seeing any hot men in bbc adaptations, just a bunch of nancys :(
Question Author
Maybe you don't like the long hair, whats the hottest actor/character you've ever seen then? or singer?
