Can someone help me with the meanings of the following Dutch Proverbs (& context U would use them):

  "Spijkers op laag water zoeken."
"Er zit een haar in de boter."
"In nood eet de duivel vliegen"

Grateful for any help.......

IndieSinger should know because he's learning Dutch at Uni.  But he seems to have gone awol at the moment, so I will try (according to my Dutch dikshunry):

Spijkers op laag water zoeken = Nails on (a) bed (of) water to search = Looking for nails on a water-bed = Looking for a needle in a haystack

Er zit een haar in de boter = There sits a hair in the butter = A fly in the ointment

In nood eet de duivel vliegen = In need eats the devil to fly = er, not sure about this one
