My bank keeps adding interest & charges to my account even though i cannot afford to pay through ill health.I have asked them to freeze interest/charges so i can set up an arrangement & try to reduce my debts but they refuse. How can i get them to realise that i'll never be able to reduce my debt if they continue to charge me.

It is not the bank's fault that you are ill and have no insurance for sickness, and you are breaching the terms and conditions of your contract with them.

However, make an appointment with Citizens' Advice Bureau debt advisors and ask for their help with this. They may be able to liaise with the bank and find a solution agreeable to both you and the bank.
