What a brilliant suggestion, that would be perfect. People are complaining they want a line drawn under the squabble (see endless posts for reference), a duel of honour would be most appropriate. Take a ridiculous and nonsensical argument and let the combatants sort it out through ritualised violence where there are strict rules and etiquette.

The seconds would ensure that the proper procedures are followed, and the matter will be resolved by the use of pistols or swords.

Do you know if this is a spectator sport, would tickets be on sale, would it put an end to this rather public posturing?

I try to look for the time-honoured traditional solution, ruby, but nobody's interested any more; they all want knife fights these days. A slap in the face for the national heritage.
