I would like to buy a family tree for a family member. Can anyone advise a good and easy to use one please? I am after a hard copy one and not a CD package. Even if you can't recommend a particular one, can you advise me about what I need to look for when buying one ie do I have to decide how far back I want to go or how long I want it to continue for?
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by 'I want to buy a family tree'. You don't just 'buy' a family tree.

Do you want to do the research yourself and just buy a chart to fill in or do you want a ready done tree? If the second option, you will need to consult a professional researcher which can cost anything upto 500 for a tree, depending how many surname s you want researching and how far back.

You say that you want an easy to use one which suggests that you want to research yourself - can you clarify please?

Hi Cheekychops. I am only looking for the chart. Myself and a family member will be filling it in. Can you advise me which I should get please?
Thanks
Obviously you have a computer. So look at the Personal Ancestry File (PAF), free from the Mormons (Google - Church of Latter Day Saints.
You can fill in as many generations as you like, and you can print down if you want hard copy.

Nope sorry aquagility - it is a hard copy (ie to be filled in with pen/pencil) that I am after.

Blimey - it doesn't look as if I have made myself very clear in my question does it?!
Carol and Ron at Genealogy Printers sell a wide range of blank charts or if you do your tree on a PC, they will print it out for you. See here:

Sorry I didn't see your question before, try www.GenealogySupplies.com on the dropdown search go in charts.

There are different types of chart you will have to decide which suits you best.
