I've always wanted to get my belly button pierced but my boy friend is totally against it, he says the chances of it gettin septic are very high but i know alot of people who've got it done and they havent had a problem with it, does anyone know if this is true coz i really do wanna get it done.

And also could u tell me where in london i can get it done.

Thanx.

2 out of 5 of my friends who had theirs pierced went septic and they were in pain for quite a while. But to be honest I think it's pot luck. If you go to a professional who is highly recommended then there is less chance of anything going wrong I guess. But there is still a chance that it could go septic. It sounds to me like your b/f is trying to put you off as he doesn't like it. I would consider his feelings before you rush into anything, it could cause problems between the two of you.

i think it is upto u, my ex hated it we fell out so i got it done then we got back together and he loved it!! although i value my husbands opinion of things i wouldnt let it stop me doing something i really wanted, we are our own people!!!

Everyone is different i had mine in for over a yr and it just didnt heal properly if i took it out for 20mins it would close up so in the end just took it out. i know lots of people who have had it and its fine. just make sure you keep it clean.

Ps i hate needles and it doesnt hurt!!

If you go to a reputable piercer, there should not be a problem, it is how you look after it after it has been pierced that is important. Use a saline solution to bathe it in and always wash your hands etc when it is healing

I had my nipples & tongue pierced at Into You.  They're very popular & very professional.

Get it done with a bar rather than a hoop. everyone i know with a hoop has gone septic, but no-one with a bar has.

Get it done in any tattooists

Mine never really healed properly but the main problem was not infection but that it was healing out.  I gave up on it after about 2 months.  But everyone's skin is different, it totally depends on the individual.  If you really want it, go for it, your bf will get used to it and may even like it!
If your boyfriend doesnt want to get it done, thensorry but it isnt his body anyway, and if he istrying to tell you what to do then is that whatyou want? Its your body and its up to you.It doesnt hurt at all by the way!!
