Firefox 3 niggle

I am used to a new tab opening automatically when I press enter after typing in the Google search box.

In FF3, it overwrites the existing tab. A small but annoying niggle.

In Tools - Options - Tabs I have it set to open new pages in a new window, and I have restarted Firefox.

I've searched the FF knowledge base. Any body else having this problem? Any clues?

Anyone?
"Open new pages in a new tab", I think you mean? (not new window).

I've no idea if that used to be an option or not, since I use Tab Mix Plus to add extra customisations.

The latest one on the normal addons site isn't yet FF3 compatible. But their latest dev build that's been out a while seems to have very few issues (none for me), and you can get it here:

There's an option to have it open a new tab from the search bar, or bookmarks, or whatever.
Hi Ethel. Just popping in to answer a question you asked me another post re my new lappy. No, I'm not using it wirelessly- I'm happy to leave it in one place, so am staying with Virgin ethernet cable.
Interesting thing happened when i downloaded Google toolbar- all my bookmarks were there! Magic! x

Thanks, Nix - that download has done the trick. It was driving me potty.

I had that addon in FF2 and had forgotten all about it.

Bathsheba - delighted about your laptop and your toolbar. :)
Thanks from me too! :-)
