Having just removed a virus disguised as a virus remover called antivirus 2008 (be warned) by going to safe mode and re-installing my home version of windows XP, I now find that my internet explorer does not work as it did. I have to go to a facebook site and then click home to get to my email. Any ideas how I can upgrade my internet explorer to make it work when clicked on. At the moment, it just makes another shortcut on my desktop when I click on it.
Many thanks for any advice you can give

when that has downloaded uninstall the current explorer and run the one you downloaded this should solve your problem but i would run some antispy ware just to make sure after i uninstall it and before installing the new one
Yet again answerbank has censored a web site link.

It does not like the letter Y I D so censors the whole string.

Click on the link above, but then replace it with the letters:

f a m i l y i d

(with no spaces between letters of course)

Then it will take you to the site to download IE7
Sorry my append is not clear.

The 7 asterisks in the web link are the problem.

Replace the 7 asterisks with

f a m i l y i d
