Edinburgh is named from edwin of northumbria .....I think!

London seems to have been named after a celt londinion, from londinus, (so wikipedia says)
cardiff comes from the roman general aulus didius - caer didi, fort of didius

thanks very much for your time.We wondered if numbers were miles, but london and cardiff meet edinburgh no where near
