I've tried hard but still stuck with No.7 Flower that can be scattered throughout these areas (6,4); No.8 Silly goat first of all came back for Lily(9,9); No.10 Herbaceous plants Mrs Sharples has words about (8); No.50 Pansy could be described as 'slooth' (4,2,8). No.82 The vicar to treat straight-laced girl(6,8) Please would some kind person give me further clues. Thank you. Incidentally I thought I was brilliant when I made up a name for the cow-girl with royal connections and when I googled it there is someone of that name. Whether she is a cow-girl or not I don't know. Thought she might be C&W though. How about 'Queenie Rose? I know now this is wrong but thought you might like to share the experience.
7 - anagram of t'hese areas'
8 - plant/flower popular at christmas
10 - types of words will be of assistance with Mrs Sharples 'inside'
50 - 'slooth' is a word for 'lazy' with a 'zero' inside
82 - the vicar refers to a book by an Irish author
Thank you jaywhybee. I've managed to get No. 7 although I would have written it as all one word.
I've also got No. 10 but the other 2 elude me for the moment. Is the Irish author GBS?
