I have three persians and they all have very different personalities. It is impossible to treat them all the same. I do try to give them all individual attention as often as I can, and they all have different preferences. Lulu loves to have her belly rubbed. Floyd loves being kissed all over his face and neck, he goes absolutely mad for it. But he wont have his belly touched Bailey the youngest, likes having his head rubbed. He goes off into a trance when I do it.

My one and only and the bosscat loves getting her chin scratched and petted on her head my finger has to touch her nose for some response cos i can only assume she was either dumped or a ferral cat, and yep loves her ears getting touched and scratched damn it not usually a cat person but i love her!!!
Well, the attention my cats love the best comes in a tin, and is called cat food. Seriously though, they all love being petted all over, all 3 of them. I have 3 brown tabbies, Mumpuss, Honey and Roo. There was a third daughter Tigger who sadly got run over a few years ago, but they were all triplets to Mumpuss, who is the most skittish of them all.

Would any other ABers like to describe their pets to us?
All mine love any and all attention they can get!
Cefa is the most affectionate, Spinks will come to wake you in the mornings for some love, Splodge will attack your hands a any time he feels like it, and if you dont respond he will stroke himself! K.c is affectionate on her own terms, but when she wants love, you dont have a choice! Sammy will always jump on your la when you are on the laptop or reading and wont leave you alone, which is pretty much the same as Smokie, only Smokie has twice sprayed me! Which disgusting as it is, I kinda think its nice that he is saying he is mine!
And Leo, well he is a teenager, and meows alot, and will sometimes come and say hi when he isnt throwing a strop!!
All this is all of course when they can get past the Puppy Cleo who loves to chase them!
Ashke the Samoyed is very laid back and loves his cuddles, whoever they come from!!

Its all cuddles and love in my house!
wiggal, you must have more cats than anybody else on here lol.

I have 2 cats. The boy loves being stroked under his chin (goes into a trance likes yours does, puddicat) and he loves his belly being stroked (but only by me, he won't allow anyone else to touch him there) and he loves a rub round the ears. Also, if it's been raining, he yells until you get some kitchen towel and dry him off. He also loves being carried around lying upside down in my arms, has a really good nosey at everything, thinks it's so interesting to see everything upside down.

the girl cat never used to like being picked up at all until just recently (they're both 14, so I think her brother has finally convinced her how nice it is lol) and now she loves having a big squidge in your arms too. She loves big, long back strokes as well; do it enough and she throws herself down on the floor and starts squirming around and purring chirpily (if that makes sense, dont' know how else to describe it).
Your home sounds fantastic wiggal - x

love the name of your cat Bailey, persianlady.
I have only one...But what a one!!! lol

I got her when she was 12 weeks. It's only me in my flat, but my best mate (male) was there too, and he was there pretty much every other day for the first 6 months. He took me to pick her up, and we were both Ooo-ing and Aaaaah-ing over her, she was so cute! :O)
Soon as she reached about 6 months, she started going for his crotch!!! lol She would litteraly rub her face against his crotch when he was sitting down. Very embarrassing!!! lol
He now has a girlfriend, which means he's not coming over as much. But he's still the ONLY male she will go near. Any other male friend of mine, she won't go near....

Anyway...It's pretty much me and her, so there! She'll wake me up in the morning (4, 5 or 6am depending on what??) by licking my eyelids, and pawing my face. So I get up, half asleep, and find that she DOES have food in her bowl, so in a word, she's being an annoying cow! lol
Other times, because I spend so much time on the laptop, she will let me know when it's time for a cuddle. she'll walk in between me and the laptop, and start head-butting me. :O) When she gets going, I get the full paws on the shoulders, licking your face, treatment. Bless! :O)
Oh, have I mentionned that she tore every single one of my posters to pieces? Lovely little monster......
Molly likes fuss on her terms - likes to be stroked down her back and face, doens't like being picked up tho. She also likes sitting on the back of the sofa and flicking her tail at your neck!
Chester is more relaxed and likes cuddles and fuss, he walks into things and gets all soppy.
Both of them will only sit on our laps if we've w cushion on our laps for them to sit on!
I had nine wonderful cats just a few years back but sadly due to illness, old age and unexplained disappearance have lost them all. Now I only have one left, my lovely old boy, Bubba. He is really my baby... had him since he came as a foundling to my garden in 1997... I took him in and we immediately bonded big time. Then, despite him going missing for six months in 1999, before he was neutered, he returned one happy day and acted as though he'd never been gone. He is the most beautiful natured cat ever, a big pale ginger lap cat. But, the cutest thing he does is to sleep alongside me in bed under the duvet!! Yes, and now he's sadly suffering kidney disease, which I know will eventually take him from me, and is hard to bear to even think about, he has taken to telling me when it's bedtime. Once I am in bed he hardly gives me time to settle down myself before he is under the duvet and seeking out the crook of my arm where he sleeps soundly all night long. Some mornings he wakes me with a gentle scratch on the neck. He is one special pet and such great company as I'm disabled and mainly housebound. Just had to tell someone about my very special boy... thanks for listening :-))

BeeP.... loved your story about Bubba. We had a big blue persian called Henry, but for some reason we called him Bubba. Dont know where the name came from, it just evolved. He was wonderful too We lost him about four years ago. he just went out into the garden one night for his usual constitutional before bedtime. he didn't come in, so I went to look for him and found him on the drive. It looked like he just keeled over and died. He was eleven. It was a shock, but at least it was quick for him. He had not been ill and was happy until his last moment. I still miss him. I am filling up whilst telling you about him.

Ice.Maiden........ glad you like the name. he is a cream persian exactly the same colour as Baileys. When we first got him I wanted to call him Basil, but my hubby said he wasn,t having me shouting him in from the garden like Sybil from Fawlty Towers.lol

PS He is a small cat with a BIG attitude. Nobody messes with him!
Hi Persianlady, I have loved reading the comments here, (Beep, sorry to read about your cat Bubba) I had a cat called Poppy who used to love to get into bed with us in the morning. She would snuggle under the covers and lay with her head on the pillow. She would then stretch out her cold paws and wake up my partner by putting them to warm up on his back! He would turn around to see a her smug catty face lying contentedly on the pillow and then complain to me about how much I spoilt her! He can't talk though, he used to take her to do the washing up with him and she would lie across his shoulders purring watching him wash up.
I think she had a bit of ragdoll in her as you could pick her up, turn her onto her back and she would stretch out to her fullest point while you were holding her under her shoulders and haunches atnd stay there totally relaxed.
I remember one of the funniest things that happened though was with my mum's cat Benjy, when he was a youngster. Benjy used to tease their dog (a golden retriever) who was getting on a bit. One day the dog was in the front garden, relaxing and chilling out and the cat stealthily crept out, ran at full pelt towards him, jumped up, whacked both his paws round the dogs head and then tore off again at top speed! The poor dog was looking round wondering what had happened, by then the cat had disappeared back into the house and I am sure was laughing his head off! It was a real You've Been Framed moment, I only wish I had a video recorder with me at the time!!
Cheers Sue
