The whole point is that nobody knows. According to the writers they've never even discussed what happened .They are writing a Christmas special so maybe we'll find out then

ah, ok - just seemed everyone knew - when jason walked into the line dancing, everyone stopped dancing and looked uncomfortable - i just thought it was on series one

No - all we know is that something happened on a camping trip. In the first series hy wouldn't talk to eachother because of the embarassment, until they finally spoke at the wedding - the only clue we've had is that it is "legal in this country". Keep watching - it's lush !
