If the cost of postage is determined by weight? How much would it cost to send a big bag full of helium?

Maybe you would get cashback!
Wouldn't be surprised if the cost was inflated!!! :-)
Wouldn't it be a good idea if they made Jiffy bags with helium in the bubblewrap instead of ordinary air? I wonder how this would affect the price of the Jiffy bags and whether you'd actually save any money on postage...
Helium is pretty expensive to produce, I'm afraid (sorry to put a downer on this one - I'd love to see it work!)
Good question...about helium in Jiffy bags, helium lifts about one gram per litre at sea level...so assuming that you could (you wouldn't, but anyway) get one litre into the bubbles, you would only save a gram. Kinda ridiculous. You would end up paying postage for the weight of the Jiffy bag at least! Now if you could get a big and light enough Jiffy bag, you could always fly it to the other person...
Is it even legal to send something like that through the post? I know it's not flammable like hydrogen, but all the same, it may be classed as not suitable for postage! :-)
