My 2 daughters are going to be travelling around the USA this summer for 2 months. They will be staying in hotels and 1 hostel, using Amtrak and MEGABUS.My concern is about safeguarding their moneyand cards.Would travellers cheques be safer and if they were mugged(i hope not)how would they get replacement cards and cash? Also should they buy their insurance now to protect themselves against airport delays etc? Thanks

I have never been to the USA but I usually take a small amount of cash and the rest in travellers cheques. I would recommend you buy the travel insurance asap in case of any problems that may arise before you go.
I always find taking some change especially dollar bills helps as america is crazy about tipping. travellers cheques and insurance is the way to go.
