My aunt has a 'real squirral fur' coat which was bought for her in 1979.

She has only worn this coat twice (probably in the 80s) and has now decided to get rid.

She had it valued at about 1,500 in the early 80s and is wondering if there was anywhere she could now sell this type of coat and would it be worth much as a vintage coat?

No nasty replies please! Don't forget, real fur coats were very popular 30 years ago, I couldn't bear to touch the thing! Thanks

Get what you can for it. It's nobody elses business but yours, especially not the PC brigade.

The animals from whom this coat was made are long gone so not selling it because of some moral reason would achieve nothing.
ooo 1979 i had a blonde coney fur jacket and it was fabulous!!! It was so warm and I felt like a million dollars, my friend Christine had a similar coloured Fox coat and we used to wear them with jeans and polo neck jumpers and we both had blonde Farah fawcett hair lol We never paid for a drink either!!! (that sounds terrible ahhhh)
I think the problem you will have now is that fur isn't as desirable as it was in the early 80's so you may not get anywhere near as much as it was valued at back then.
No you will get the asking price for it!! They are huge in London. Especially round brick lane. I know this, because I think I accidently bought one today! I thought it was faux fur.x
