And I have to agree - Tom Cruise, but Rabbity's Steven Seagal isn't too hot on the acting front. He can play though!
Nick Cage - hands down. I'll NEVER forgive him for this:

i agree with all the postings on here, with maybe an exception to dame judi. all these actors ? are vastly overrated. also think daniel radcliffe is overrated, he's carried through all those films by rupert grint who is indeed a fine young actor, who i fear will never get the credit he deserves.
michael Caine is a superb actor!! but the worst one I think is for loving himself is ( or was ) Marlon Brando
Tom Cruise, or Hugh Grant, or Demi Moore orWendy Richard or the guy who plays Harold Bishop in Neighbours or...I'm sorry you only wanted one it's so hard to choose...

For me Marlon Brando was the most overrated actor of all time, he made the brilliant A streetcar named desire and On the waterfront in 1954 and lived on that reputation for the next sixty years
A lot of these choices seem to be votes for the WORST actor. Most of them haven't ever really been "overrated". I'd go along with Cage, he is terrible but seems to be quite well-regarded.

Two things that made me laugh - that James Nesbitt plays an Irish-sounding Roman in The Passion; yes, well that's much more absurd than all the English-sounding Romans and Judeans in that programme isn't it? And to criticise Kidman then say "give me Al Pacino anytime"? At least she plays a wide variety of roles. I heard recently Pacino's going to be playing... guess what... a cop. Oh, really? What a departure! I do agree though Kidman's a bit technical - for me a bit like listening to a virtuoso Clapton guitar solo. I can see the technique and skill are there, but it doesn't move me.
the two that sprang into my mind were Michael Caine and John Wayne
