Ad hoc panel/ door latch

The front panel on my boiler keeps dropping down because the plastic tab doesn't grasp its counterpart properly. What could I use, instead of a piece of tape, to hold the panel to the boiler? Is there such a thing as a catch made of two parts that are stuck to the panel and the boiler and can be connected and released?

How about Velcro? You can get both halves as self-adhesive pads, or on a roll.
