Kiran.....A ( Abeam) +(d)rink
yes kiran - but i would of said kir (drink) + and (with) - d (daughter)
What about the 'beaming' midazolam ?

As I said A from a A -Beam +drink with d (daughter going out

Therefore anagram ARINK = Kiran

true k - i feel this is a big jump beaming - abeam - a

i like your anag idea - if he forgot the "a" before drink, and beaming is used as the word to jumble the letters

beaming given a drink with daughter going out

adrink-d=kiran

either of these 3 ways i think its kiran, however its a poor clue as its an obscure name to put in a crossword

oh and the missing clue for the last down entry - not good
Look at the list of first names at the back of Chambers ... that's where the explanation for 'beaming' can be found.
