Hi wondering if anyone can help. For last few month probably my pc won't burn an audio CD. It just fails all the time then once it fails i can't open the CD drawer and have to just reboot my pc. I can hear the drive spinning like crazy after it's failed but it then wont open. Anyone any ideas? I have tried different discs and brands, slower speeds and made sure songs aren't protected in any way etc.
Data CDs and DVDs work perfectly so i am guessing then the burner is ok? i can also play and rip CDs to my pc.

Any help appreciated.

not necessarily

c "simple" CD/DVD player supports a bewildering number of formats ... if it's the firmware ... you could theoretically (never seen it in real life !!!) loose only certain stuff

similarly the software (this would be the first thing I looked at) can support some stuff ... but not others.
nero has an expansion pack for burning audio CDs
... some proprietary formats require codecs or dlls to support them.

so give us a little more info
brand of burner ... name/version of software ... OS

if you want to prove ... d/l and install
