I can only think of "Elmier" but can't find this word in any dictionary !
Can anyone help please?

That was my best guess and it fits in,but sounds a very contrived word

But what a strange word! I can see how it is the comparative of elmy (in Chambers) but can you imagine anyone using it in normal speech -- " I say, old chap, my little woodland glade is elmier than yours....!" Where do the compilers dig them up from ? Not the elms, that is...!
