Has anyone tried self-hypnosis therapy using mp3 downloads or cd's? Does it work? And would it work for someone who is profoundly deaf in one ear, (other ear is fine) or would I be wasting my money? (I seem to remember a newspaper freebie which sent different messages to left & right earphones). Any advice and recommendations would be very welcome - many thanks in advance!

You have made a great point there. I have trouble hearing out of my right ear since I was in a accident years ago and I listen to those c.d's quite alot and I can hear better the left side
It also gets confusing when he talks in both ears at once saying different stuff (Paul Mc Kena)
It may be worth email his website and ask what is available for hard of hearing but I think as your subconscious is being worked on it does work as if you fall asleep as I often do when listening to them they are still suppose to work
also his books are good to as they have exercises in to do from reading and always focus on positive x

Thanks lil123,
I had a look at Paul McKenna's website, but there doesn't seem to be cd or download relevant to the subject I was looking for. I also managed to find the freebie cd, which by coincidence is Paul Mc Kenna's Deep Relaxation. It came with The Times a few months ago. Listened to it again and I definitely only get half the story (so to speak). Anyway, I've sent a e-mail to his website asking advice on the deafness/affectiveness question. Not able to check for an answer yet as Hotmail seems to be down today.
Thanks again, Cliosmumx
