we were given one of those plain yellow italian cakes in the box and dont like it as it is so has anyone got any recipes that we can use it in to turn it into a desert

Plus, Delia Smith has a wonderful recipe for an alternative to Christmas Pudding using Panettone cake. I think it was 'Steamed Panettone Pudding' or something similar? We made it a few years ago and it was gorgeous! Either in her Christmas or Winter Collection book. Bit late for the one you were given, but maybe even buy one yourself and try it for this Christmas?
