While I was looking through some parish burial records, I came across the term Foresters' funeral and I was wondering what it was. This particular entry was from 1895.

Any ideas?

Click here and scroll down to section 13.6. There you will see that someone who had been a member of the Royal Foresters' Society was granted such a funeral. It seems likely that the entry you refer to dealt with a similar situation.
