Hi everyone.
Star was booked in for her spay next Tuesday and guess what? She has come in to season today. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of Staffordshire Bull Terriers having their first season, as all the websites say different things about how long they are bleeding for and how long they are fertile for, etc. I also know that different breeds have different experiences.

She has been weeing a lot over the last few days and cleaning herself regularly, this morning she is very swollen and spotting a little, but nothing too bad, is it going to get worse? Our GSD used to have quite bad bleeding when she came in season.

She may just spot a little, my youngest GSD gushed! I kid you not, then looked up at me as if to say, 'clean that up would you' (spayed now thankfully) whereas my other bitches were hardly noticeable, it isn't just breeds that can be different but individual bitches, the time that they bleed for, again can vary, my dog bled for the full 3 weeks in varying degrees, some only bleed for a few days, but as it is your bitches first season they generally aren't as intense as subsequent seasons so you may be lucky.
hi my staffy bitch had her 1st season 6 months ago and she was licking herself constantly and a bit spotty 2 its nothing to worry about and the bleeding was quite light realy she has just come into season again and the bleeding is really quite heavy this time and shes quite loving while shes in season too hope everything is ok for you you really should have no worries
