I am looking to go to Las Vegas with my wife in April 2008 for our 40th birthdays. Any advice, recommendations, places not to miss would be very welcome. How can I find out what events or shows will be on at that time? When should I book? Is it cheaper to book direct? Thanks

This is a very good website for Vegas. Shows map of all the hotels on the strip & tells you whats on, excursions etc.

Sorry forgot the link.
Go on the scarey rides at the top of the Statosphere tower. & a visit to the Hilton Hotel for the star trek experience. there is far far too many things to do & all are very good. Book theatre shows before on line or there are booths in the street where you que up for tickets cheap for that days performance. have fun. Las Vegas Capital of the World. My fav place.
Walk the strip and visit all Hotels. They are amazing. We stayed in Excalibur for 4 nights in april last year - it was excellent. You can book when you get there or book in advance - look on internet. I would recommend everyone to go there. I booked with united vacations who were very helpful...pick up a brochure from travel agent !!
You will never be bored in Las Vegas. Not only is it affordable, and very luxurious but full of activities. You don't have to gamble or have a lot of money to have a great time.
