Don't know how to make it, but most fair sized towns/cities have chinese supermarkets where you can buy the very stuff that your local takeaway uses!....yummy!

I think the spice that gives it that particular 'Chinese curry' flavour is star anise.

Mayflower CHinese Style COncentrated Curry Sauce Mix. Available in FarmFoods stores in Scotland, and from what I can gather, Iceland. This tastes exactly like the sauce they use in the chines takeaways and chippies, and someone told me it is the actual stuff they use!!!

I Know about the paste stuff they make it a few hundred yards away from my house how do I make the paste from individual ingredients

I have to mention curry powder becuase thats how chinese curry sauce is made, from a huge plastic jar that says "just add water"

I seek an answer too. If the question says use curry powder then how do I make the powder? I don't want Indian curry powder in my Chinese curry. I want to make everything from scratch.

try yeung's concentrated chinese curry mix. you can buy this from morrisons. i have tried many different ones but this is as near to takeaway curry i have tasted. yummy
