Repairing a Suitcase

The cloth lining of my Samsonite suitcase has come loose as the adhesive has dried out to a yellowy powder over time.
The case is a fibreglass? type construction and I have cleaned out all the old remaining traces of the adhesive.
Can you recommend a suitable adhesive to re-glue the cloth lining in place again?
Many thanks

Hi Oakville

I have exactly the same problem and have been searching the internet for an answer without success so far but I have only been searching for an hour or so. It seems like it is a rubberised sort of glue we need the sort you use for cork tiles, perhaps. I will let you know if I find the answer. Peter, Brisbane

Peter,
I haven't found the solution yet but hope some reader may have the answer. My suitcase is just too good to chuck it out so will keep searching.
suspect it was a latex type, like copydex, when this degrades it often leaves a residue.Could you use a hot melt glue?Advantage would be no drying time and minimum penetration /staining of the material
Why don't you telephone Samsonite on 02085644222 or e-mail [email protected] and ask consumer services what they would advise.
