23a bob is the old name for shilling which had the symbol "s"
12d another word for layers followed by anagram of "meg"
I may be wrong, but I thought the answer was stratagem made up of strata - layers and gem, anagram of Meg. - is this not correct?

I dont think dirizhor wanted tte answer,just a bit of help to get started
