My macbook keeps doing this thing a few times a day when it comes up with an error message and makes me restart. It just freezes so its the only thing you can do when it happens.
Does anyone know why it might be doing this?
thanks

First off do a 'repair permissions'. Go to Applications/Utilities and open Disc Utility, click on your drive then click 'repair permissions'. Restart and see if it's any better. If it's still the same up you'll need to start up from your system disc and open disc utilities on that and repair your disc.

thanks im trying that.
What is the error message?
If all else fails you can reload the system software from the original dvd. From what I remember it will keep all your programmes, documents etc.
Any joy?
