Hi. I have just received a dvd through amazon-you know the ones you buy that come from different suppliers. Its british dvd (kids programme) on the back of the case it says its made/sent from the USA. But on the envelope, it was postmarked sweden I think! When I put it into my dvd player it said ' wrong region' and wont play. What does this mean??? Can I not play on my dvd and why have they sent me a incompatible disc. Good job it wasnt expensive. thanks in advance

If it says region 1 somewhere on the DVD box ( usually towards the bottom at the back of the cover ), it is an American disc.
If there is no BBFC ( British Board of Film Classification )certificate on the cover, then it isn't a British release.
It should state somewhere on the web page where you bought it on Amazon, what region it is.

Check the Internet for the code to change the region on your DVD player ( there may be a hidden menu ).
Do a Google search for "DVD play hack", and search the make of your DVD player.

anderlee, you can hack your dvd player for free which will allow you to read ANY dvd from ANY region.

What DVD player do you have and I will check what code you need (make and model)
