Make a mince crumble-i know it sounds gross, but put carrots and onions in with your mince, then for the topping use cheese instead of sugar!-its delicious!

kirsty, we used to have mince crumble at junior school in the early 70's and it was lovely ! I have never heard of it or had it since, in fact I had forgotten all ablout it. I might have to make one. Thanks for jogging my memory lol
Do a posh Cottage Pie, popsy.

Fry a couple of large finely sliced carrots, 1 finely chopped onion, then add a dollop of tomato sauce to the gravy (knorr, oxo or Bisto to meat juices) Add few stripped sprigs of Thyme plus a bit of flour. Cook to thicken.

Put mashed potato on top, then add 2 or 3 sliced baby leeks or 1 large one, cooked in butter till soft. Place leeks over mash and finish with 2 or 3 oz of grated cheese.

As you already have veg in the pie, just serve, with added gravy.
